Get such a great meal and great beer with it. What more do you want!
Food was delicious. Little choice for children. Hygiene concept well adhered to.
The chef is particularly successful with the beer. The food wasn't so good.
Delicious food, delicious beer and good service at fair prices. 👍 Due to its popularity, you should definitely make a reservation.
Super nice, great beer, very friendly staff and everything was good
4.10.20 13:30 A compliment to the service, all hygiene regulations were in place and were also adhered to. Delicious rustic lunch, nice service, everything went pretty quickly, drinks and after about 3pm what the food was on the table, we could sit outside to eat, weather was on our side. The prices are also humane. Therefore recommendable. We'd love to come back.
In the middle of Weimar, price / performance ratio for the overnight stay is right. Breakfast was very good even in Corona times, individual requests are catered for. Always happy.
Traditional restaurant with regional specialties. The service was very quick and the food tasted good. The menu could use a little more whistle.
It was really great. Food very good. Service pleasant and sat us in the courtyard alone, carefully and so that we could chat.
Waited 30 minutes for a waitress even though it wasn't exactly full. At the next table, the ordered food was sometimes only served after asking several times. Unfortunately, the long wait is not worth it. Comparable dishes are of higher quality in other restaurants in Weimar. Definitely not a recommendation.
The restaurant is fine. The service is friendly. The food is not a taste explosion. The sauerkraut and red cabbage on the house plate were pretty much overcooked. Unfortunately, the dumplings weren't that special either. The meat tasted okay. Wouldn't be my first choice.
If you could give more than 5 stars, I would do it. Sensational, exceptionally tasty Thuringian cuisine and absolutely professional service.
The atmosphere was okay, although I don't quite understand what rustic style has to do with the jazz decoration. The toilets were as far as they were supposed to be, but with so much traffic and the current pandemic, cleaning shouldn't only take place once a day at 6 a.m., as the cleaning schedule revealed - the blower to dry the hands was more disgusting than hygienic . Regarding the staff, I have to say that the ladies were very friendly, but didn't understand everything correctly; instead of a Vita Cola black, I got a Vita Cola light. The young man in the service was visibly annoyed by his work and the guests - the fact that the eyes did not fall out from turning was remarkable. Now a couple of notes about food. We had the beef roulade and the pork goulash; the portions were good. The dumplings for both meals were very marginal and in one case had to be returned to the kitchen because they weren't done yet, but raw. Furthermore, the cook did not save on breadcrumbs - good cost of sales in favor of lower costs. The roulade was good, but the sauce was heavily mixed with sauce thickener and salt - my stomach forgave me afterwards. The apple red cabbage was not fresh, just frozen and then without the apple. The goulash was ok but a little toe and dry in parts. The sauce for the goulash was very peppery. The lady in the service apparently knew about the quality of the food and took our comments with a smile. In short: if you are simply hungry and taste is not that important, this is the right place for you. However, it should be noted that the prices absolutely do not correspond to the quality and are simply set too high. Furthermore, the building is not barrier-free, which, however, spares some of the potential guests a nasty surprise.
Delicious beer, delicious food. You can also sit comfortably here.
Delicious rustic food, nice service and good for sitting outside. The prices are also humane. Therefore highly recommended!
Highly Recommended! Very, very nice and courteous service and the food was excellent! Regional cuisine combined with something special. Should we ever be in Weimar again, we'll be back !!
Hello everyone, I found the Schwarzbjerhaus very cozy and the food was also very good. Can't go wrong. I can also highly recommend it. The service is very friendly. Everything is very clean too!
Very good bratwurst. The roast beef strips of the salad were unfortunately dry. Sauerkraut and red cabbage were mediocre. But the sauce was very good.
Been there again for some time today! Well what can I say, I remembered it better! Order and get goulash! Sauerkraut a little cold in between. As if it was just added. A court nerve may have broken when serving ketchup! Otherwise, guests and their appearance were discussed at the counter! All in all, something can still be worked on in terms of friendliness! Especially when other guests have a close look! In terms of taste, we remembered it a little better!
So nice I like it.
Nice regional food

Nice location, but the saltiest food i ever had in my life. Also, the waitress was quite rude, she seemed to be annoyed by every single question i made. This may be a German thing, as it had happened over and over in different cities and restaurants, but still...
1 euro for a glass of tap water is shameful.
Cold beer and good food. And real German 😊
Typical German menu, the Sauerkrautsoup is a noteworthy choice. Good food, German proportions, fair prices and nice staff.

We recommend!!! The food is delicious! And plenty. But you can also order small portions. Staff very friendly. When you sit outside, one or the other chair wobbles. But that's because of the floor.
Great local food.
Walked a few blocks from our hotel. The location was great and the building was obviously old and was neat. The inside felt like a very old pub with many locals drinking beer. I had already drank the dark beer, which was much better than the bottles I can get in the U.S. I also tried the Kellerbier, which I didn’t really like it and I did not try the Hefeweizen. They served one local dry white wine, which was great, but was the only choice. They had menus in English and the wait staff could speak good English, but the specials were only in German. I had a marinated pork cutlet with crispy potatoes. This was a huge potion and was really good. I couldn’t eat all because of the large portions. My wife had pork goulash with sauerkraut and dumplings. The pork was great and the sauerkraut was better than any experienced in U.S. Worth visiting again.
Excellent food nice drink a beautiful place, but in total, unfortunately, a bit expensive.
I had a wonderful traditional style meal here. The staff were very helpful and the service was good. The place has a very cozy feel to it. Would come back again in the future.

Great food, service was quick and attentive. Had Wildschweinbraten, rot Kraut , Klöße. Best I have had in a long time
TOP location!!
We've been there and had lunch. We got the Schwarzbierbraten (like a soft cooked pork with a dark beer sauce) and the Sauerfleisch (soft sour pork). It was delicious and the portions pretty big. As beverages we drunk beer, obviously like Germans do. Close to this restaurant there are 2 other steak restaurants we can also recommend. I highly recommend the restaurants in this corner for everyone who like to eat meat and probably drink beer.
best looking half-timbered building in weimar. built in the 16th century from woad wealth, it has been restored in its present glory. they're dark bear is great and their beer roast, though quite good, just lacks something to give them 5 stars.
Excellent food and beer selection.
Traditional thuringian food and beer. Very friendly staff. Not to crowded - but it is tuesday.
Nice location, but food kind of missing taste, many far better restaurant options nearby
Great beer and friendly service!
Populare place fore the local. Food is home made style. Ok.
Very good service. Tastful Ford.
Excellent service and premises
Good ambience.. Not expensive and authentic German cuisine
